The Dublin Comic Arts Festival is an ongoing series of quarterly small press comic book events in Dublin. Currently on hiatus due to the ongoing pandemic.
To mark a year in which it is unsafe to host a Dublin Comic Arts Festival, DCAF has decided to publish a digital zine comprised of new work by past DCAF exhibitors!
Proceeds from the zine will go towards the DCAF Artists Fund, which is sending €100 to as many past DCAF exhibitors as possible during the ongoing crisis. As of October, we've given away €1700 to 17 artists.
The only two parameters of the zine are:
- You must have exhibited at one DCAF event (booked for our cancelled April event counts!)
- We are looking for new original work completed since the last DCAF event (December 2019)
We are asking artists to donate work they've created already this year since we don't have the budget to commission new work.
Works may be previously published.
Artists retain full rights to their respective works.
* The deadline for submissions is November 21st and with a little luck we'll publish in December.
** Budget permitting, the DCAF Committee may also publish a smaller, curated, physical zine. Artists selected for the physical zine will receive some compensation.
The DCAF Committee has decided to cancel any further DCAF events until it is safe to resume them. In the interim, we are fundraising for The DCAF Artists Fund.
To support artists affected by the ongoing crisis, DCAF is donating 100% of our fundraising directly to past DCAF artists. Every time we reach €100 we'll send it to a randomly selected past DCAF artist. No application necessary, we've got your details already. If you're selected we'll contact you and transfer you the amount.
We'll raise money for DCAF artists for the duration of isolation. To support The DCAF Artists Fund you can:
